Once Again Going Against the Will of the Voters and Overwhelming Opposition That Far Outweighed the Bills Support, the Senate Narrowly Passes SB 452

SB 452 went to the Full Nevada Senate on Wednesday 5/26/2021 and was passed almost along party lines. There was a lone Democrat defector, Senator Dina Neal from Las Vegas (Senate District 4), who voted against the bill.

The bill immediately went to the Assembly and was recommended within minutes of its arrival to proceed to the Assembly Judiciary Committee by Assembly Majority Floor Leader Assemblywoman Benitez-Thompson.

Since being forwarded we have not seen any activity posted via NELIS.

Since the bill was heard in a Joint Session of the Judiciary Committees on May 22nd, 2021 there will be no additional public hearings on the bill as far as we are aware of right now. Assembly Judiciary Committee Chair Steve Yeager had said during the Joint Session he did not see the need nor did he anticipate the need for an additional hearing. We are waiting to see of any other movement or meetings on the bill.
