Clark County Shooting Complex Rifle and Pistol Center Closed for Staff Quarantine
CCSC is reporting that due to a considerable amount of staff under quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposure that they have shutdown the Pistol and Rifle Center until 5pm on Thursday January 21st, 2021. Shotgun and Archery as well as training and matches are unaffected and remain under current normal operations.
Nevada Firearm Dealers No Longer Allowed to Accept Expired ID's as Temporary Covid-19 Extension Expires
According to a Facebook post from a Nevada-based firearm's dealer, the Nevada Department of Public Safety has sent out alerts to Nevada FFL's that they are no longer allowed to accept expired identification for firearm purchases from persons under the age of 65.
Virginia City Gun Works Owner and Son Shot and Killed at Store
According to news reports what appears to be the owner of Virginia City Gun Works and his son were killed over what is believed to be a long-standing legal dispute over money with the suspect. The motive however is still being investigated by police.

NvSCA on the Current State of Nevada's CCW Extension: No Longer in Effect
We reached out to the Nevada Sheriff's and Chief's Association in-regards to the current standing of expiring or expired CCW's within the state. In short, they state that as far as they are aware, all Law Enforcement office's have opened back up to normal operations and because of that the extension is NO LONGER IN EFFECT but they did state to check with your local sheriff's office to check the status of their CCW unit operations (see why later on in the story).

Nevada Sheriff's and Chiefs Association Provides Information About Wearing a Mask While Carrying Firearm
The Nevada Sheriff's and Chief's Association has recently released a statement regarding the confusion of carrying a firearm and the new mandatory masks in public directive put out by Governor Sisolak this week. Rumors have swirled that wearing a mask in public while carrying a firearm (open vs concealed in some cases). There is nothing in NEVADA state statues (NRS - Nevada Revised Statues) that would make it illegal at the Local/State levels. NVSCA says they are unaware of anything federally as well but do ask that the public or law enforcement agency for specific citation if any federal law is found that says otherwise. Clark County Shooting Complex to Open to Public on Friday June 26
A press release released today by Clark County states that on Friday, June 26, the Clark County Shooting Complex will FINALLY reopen for public shooting at 7a.m. But due to staffing challenges, limited days and hours of operation will be in effect. Clark County Shooting Complex Manager Steve Carmichael has announced that due to internal issues CCSC may not reopen to public shooting as last anticipated on June 10th. Clark County Shooting Complex Pushes Reopening Back to June 10th
The Clark County Shooting Complex has pushed its reopening to June 10th (previously June 3rd) with a 60 day anticipated "return to life" time-frame. A recent email to CCSC user groups (instructors, match directors, etc...) highlights the struggle of "red-tape" they have been facing in trying to reopen, including the termination of over 2,000 part-time employees at the start of the pandemic which encompassed a majority of the CCSC staff. That combined with an anticipated $50 Million projected deficit for the County has made it hard for them to get the complex back to 'normal'. Read More...

Clark County Shooting Complex Receives Approval to Reopen on May 20th
Per a message from the Complex's manager posted via their Facebook page, the Clark County Shooting Complex has received approval to reopen to the public on Wednesday May 20th, 2020. The complex will open with limited hours due to a staffing shortage at the moment and will employ safety precautions outlined by CDC's COVID-19 guidelines. The range will operate on a first come, first serve basis with no reservations needed or being taken. Clark County Shooting Complex Revises Reopening Plan to Include Public Pistol/Rifle Range with Limited Hours
The Clark County Shooting Complex has revised its proposed reopening plan it submitted to the County Manager's office to include the opening of the Public Pistol/Rifle range.
