In a video message posted to Facebook, Sharon Oren announced that he will be retiring and closing the store.
Maccabee Arms Ltd. is/was the second oldest firearms store in the Reno area. The store originally opened in 1996 under a different owner and has been owned by Mr. Oren for the past 14 years. (Mark Fore's Strike Reno is the oldest, which opened in 1962.)
Oren said the decision to close did not come lightly but after taking some time away after a serious accident in January of last year, and spending much needed time with family, that it was time to make family first for the first time.
Like Battle Born Ammunition and Firearms, which also recently closed, Maccabee Arms was up for sale and had a potential buyer but the deal fell through and instead of continuing the search he decided to just close the store.
The stores last day open will be Saturday October 8th. Mr. Oren stated that all accessories, optics, etc. are on sale at 30% off until then. All sales will be cash/debit only.
