Front Sight Puts Restructure on Hold

As we published the article on Front Sight's Restructuring announcement it seems another announcement was sent out by Dr. Piazza stating the "Restructure" was on Hold.

According to an email recently sent out by Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Founder and Director of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, they have been forced to restructure their policies, procedure and fees. which "will ensure Front Sight's successful operation and expansion for generations to come."

CCSC is reporting that due to a considerable amount of staff under quarantine due to possible COVID-19 exposure that they have shutdown the Pistol and Rifle Center until 5pm on Thursday January 21st, 2021. Shotgun and Archery as well as training and matches are unaffected and remain under current normal operations.

A press release released today by Clark County states that on Friday, June 26, the Clark County Shooting Complex will FINALLY reopen for public shooting at 7a.m. But due to staffing challenges, limited days and hours of operation will be in effect.  To remedy that, staff are aggressively looking to fill part-time and volunteer positions. Clark County Shooting Complex Manager Steve Carmichael has announced that due to internal issues CCSC may not reopen to public shooting as last anticipated on June 10th. He does not say what exactly the 'internal' issues are but does make note of and references that County HR staff are not back at work... Please Read His Full Statement below:

The increase in warmer weather combined with the increase of new shooters and closure of managed shooting ranges due to the COVID-19 Pandemic has sent in influx of people looking to shoot out to the surrounding deserts across the state. While we enjoy the benefit of living in areas surrounded by large amounts desert, the areas open to unrestricted shooting have dwindled and keep dwindling due to growth and one often overlooked group of factors: Misinformed, Irresponsible and Careless shooters. The Clark County Shooting Complex has pushed its reopening to June 10th (previously June 3rd) with a 60 day anticipated "return to life" time-frame. A recent email to CCSC user groups (instructors, match directors, etc...) highlights the struggle of "red-tape" they have been facing in trying to reopen, including the termination of over 2,000 part-time employees at the start of the pandemic which encompassed a majority of the CCSC staff. That combined with an anticipated $50 Million projected deficit for the County has made it hard for them to get the complex back to 'normal'. Read More...

Recently the CCSC had announced they would open on Wednesday May 20th but they have just announced they will have to push back their opening two weeks until Wednesday June 3rd.
