This match is designed for the beginning to intermediate shooter and is held the same weekend as the Precision Rifle Match so in 1 weekend Members can shoot the Precision Rifle Match and then the Accurized AR Match. This is an awesome opportunity to really build your practical and competitive skills in 2 platforms.

The format of the match will be based on NRL/PRS style matches with a time limit and also a round limit. Targets will be generous in size. If you have shot the Precision Rifle Match then you should have a fair idea of how this match will run. There will be plenty of props and moderate movement. It is not a Run and Gun match.

Gear recommendations:

• Most calibers of an AR variant are allowed, subject to the same rules as the Precision Rifle Match. No steel core, velocity under 3100 fps.
• Rifle can be customized but the nature of the match is to be able to be competitive with “off the shelf” gear.
• Shooters are advised to have a bipod however, if you are trying to develop skills that are more reality or 3 Gun based, then shooting prone positional with a sling will certainly be doable and encouraged.
• Rear bag. Additional bags or support will be dictated by stage but not prohibited.
• An optic that is a minimum of 6 power, 8-10 being the minimum ideal. Because this match has a precision element to it, we recommend an optic with MOA or Milliradian reticles versus a BDC (Ballistic Drop Compensator) reticle. The BDC reticle will work, and again, if your goal is to learn how to run your current gear better, then by all means feel free to go that direction. Open sights will probably hamstring you more than you would like as targets will go out to 600 yards, although most will be between 100 and 500 yards.

The match will consist of 6-8 stages with a 20 round maximum per stage so 120-160 rounds is recommended. Shooters should have a minimum of 3 magazines and ability to carry magazines on the body to the shooting area.

The match will emphasize safety and rifle manipulation. Shooters will need to be verbal and clear with the ROs anytime movement is involved. Procedures are covered in the safety brief and to shoot the match you must be at the briefing. Let me be clear, unsafe practices have zero tolerance.

ECI (Empty Chamber Indicators) are required. Eye and ear protection mandatory. Ancillary gear such as tripods, plates for the rail, etc. can be used as dictated by the stage description but will not be a big part of the match.

Additional spotting scopes/binoculars are appreciated if you can bring such gear. Please be ready to assist with spotting and also brass collection. There will be more brass flying around than at a Precision Rifle Match. Some shooters will be reloading (and if not, it still needs to be cleaned up) and want to keep their brass, so brass will need to retrieved before the next shooter can stage.

At this time, we will all be shooting as “OPEN” class. As we develop the match, we may introduce different classes to reflect the wide range of skills and equipment the AR platform allows to make it more equitable related to those factors.
