Clark County Shooting Complex is Taking Applications for Their Advisory Board

Written by

The complex is actively recruiting for a new 7-member Advisory Board to serve their facility.

A message from Steve Carmichael, February 5, 2022:

Attention- Clark County Shooting Complex Patrons/Interested Citizens of Clark County,

Due to the onset of Covid-19, the Clark County Shooting Complex Advisory Committee suspended all meetings and related activity in March, 2020.

Due to the time that has passed, it’s been recommended we actively recruit a new 7-member Advisory Board to serve our facility. Please visit the link below to obtain the online application. Once completed, save, then forward to me by email as an attachment. Applications will be accepted through February 28, 2022, then forwarded to our Board of County Commissioners for final selection. The final 7-member board should be approved by the end of April resulting in the new board convening in May for their initial meeting. Past Board members are highly encouraged to re-apply.

Advisory Committee's Rules and Responsibilities:
• Follow the direction of the BCC.
• Provide input regarding facility design components, programming, fundraising and promotion of the Shooting Complex as appropriate.
• Act as a recommendation and review committee and report back to the County Commission.
• Act as an advocate for the Shooting Complex by encouraging citizen participation in Shooting Complex events, programs, services and volunteer opportunities.

Unless changes are recommended by the new Committee, regularly scheduled meetings will be held the third Wednesday night of every other month at the Shooting Complex Education Center at 6:00 pm, during the months of January, March, May, July, September and November. The Board may also call special meetings at other times if needed.

Advisory Board terms are normally two years and those selected will be asked to serve through 2023.
