We, and of course all firearm instructors and stores, deem firearms training an essential service and as such most will continue their classes as scheduled or are modifying their classes per recommended social distancing and cleaning protocols laid out by the CDC. Most are also offering private instruction in lieu of their more public group classes.
Of the few that we reached out to a couple said they were cancelling their scheduled classes altogether.
As Stated by Nevada Carry: Nevada cannot confiscate your firearms and they can not interfere with the lawful possession, transfer, sale, carrying, storage, display or use of firearms, ammunition or components thereof per NRS 414.155.
That being said, there was no mention of Gun Stores or Firearms Training as being either essential or non-essential. We are waiting to see what happens over the next few days with regards to any enforcement or clarifications from state and jurisdicational law enforcement agencies and how they view those businesses.
We urge everyone to make their own decision on what to do and to contact your preferred instructor to find out if they are continuing their class or not.
If you are a new firearms owner we encourage you to reach out to any of the instructors in our directory and inquire about private basic firearms safety training and fundamentals. PLEASE do not overlook this, it is vital!
EVERYONE STAY SAFE & HEALTHY! and AS ALWAYS:
BE PREPARED | GET TRAINED | STAY TRAINED | BE INFORMED | HAVE FUN!
